Over the last 12 years, Lionel Thomas has been able to achieve what is every gamer’s dream: a flourishing career in the gaming industry. After starting out as a programmer, he was able to become a producer creating Xbox and PC titles, all while spending 60 additional hours a week gaming. Lionel’s lifestyle soon led to massive weight gain, and it was not long before he began suffering the inevitable side effects. He soon found himself feeling tired, and suffered from back problems. Despite this, he openly admits that if “he could have been hooked up to a computer and played games 24/7…” he would. It wasn’t until he sustained a muscle injury and met his sweetheart that he decided enough was enough, and began working towards losing weight and enhancing his way of life.

With somewhat basic efforts, Lionel found that he was able to lose 11 pounds in the space of a month. This astounding weight loss motivated him to continue with his efforts, and after eight months he lost 44lbs. Not only did this have an amazing effect on Lionel’s appearance, it also helped him feel more energized, allowing him to enjoy his favourite past time more: gaming.

Lionel has since established a website that features tips for gamers who want to keep gaming, but do not want to sacrifice their health. After finding success with his site, Lionel was able to write a book in order to make finding better health easier for gamers around the world. The book, “Vitality for Gamers”, features everything any game player needs to know in order to ensure they lose weight, get healthy, and stay that way. The dietary section does not just feature basic nutritional tips, it focuses on meals and snacks that are central to gamer health. Such tips are ideal for those who play a little, or a lot, and can be used to sustain all night gaming sessions.

Second to any health plan comes exercise. As any gamer will know, making the move from a sedentary lifestyle to one that is more energetic can be challenging to say the least.       The computer is not a healthy lifestyle for people. It programs us to thinking we can find everything on here. Jobs, pay bills, shop, everything! We can do that ourselves and it seems technology is taking the chores away from us, that can be easily done by human themself. The computer can help us though when we need to find information, imformation fast. Websites help us retain information, advertisements are just like commericals there just trying to sell or maniupulate us to buy whatever their advertising. The computer is not improving our healthy lifestyle. Peoples eyes can go out of sight and hurt very badly(like mine and i’m only 15 years old.) from years and years staring at the computer. The worst thing to stare at is a computer screen — I don’t know why I still do it for hours at end, but I do. The computer will never promote the quality of healthy lifestyle, its just not possible. The computer can convince people to stop drugs and alcohol but if you think about it would you rather have an obsession over the computer for hours at the day, you have to be near the computer you have to be on it then doing drugs or alcohol? The computer is just as bad addiction as alcohol and drugs. The computer cannot HELP us other then give us fast information when we need it. The computer although has so much information and so many untrusted sites you never know if what your reading is a lie. And I hope I get 10 points because I just wasted my time answering this long question, I hope you weren’t just asking this for the heck of this — I hope it was for some essay lol.

      Schools can replace all or most of the canteen food with healthy options so they could replace chicken burger with tuna salad for example. Individuals can aim to eat 5 portions of fruit and veg a day and exercise for at least 30 minutes a day. The government can put a higher price up on junk food, therefore tempting more people to buy healthy food as it would become cheaper than it is now.

      The reason why people don’t care about a healthy lifestyle, is that junk food like burger and chips is quick and a convenience, as healthy meals takes time to prepare. Same with exercise maybe being time consuming and they have a busy schedule to be able to fit it all in.

      Healthy lifestyle…involves eating right, exercing, and relationships you have with others. Also if you live in a clean environment…messy=germs=sickness…and to maintain a healthy lifestyle you need to frequenlty eat right, do some sort of physical activity, be nice to others (stress is bad for health), and keep a clean home

      Are you sure you want to lose weight? If this a true desire, give it two weeks, and then asses how you feel. If you are eating healthy and exercises you will feel the difference, then if you go back to living unhealthfully you will be able to tell the change in how you feel, then you should be able to make an easy desicion.

      Calcium, not dairy specifically, is what’s important to a healthy lifestyle. Many other things have calcium like broccoli, nuts, fish, water, etc. The amounts are smaller though so you’d have to consume a lot more of them to get the calcium that you need, which is why people find it easier to get it through dairy. Our bodies don’t actually absorb all the calcium from dairy products very well because of the fat in them; that is why “western” societies actually have the highest rates of osteoperosis, where countries that don’t consume dairy products at all but get calcium from other sources, actually have stronger bones and very low rates of this disease.
