Arnold Schwarzenegger Arm Workout

English: arnold schwarzenegger Deutsch: arnold...

Why is it that over thirty years after he retired from bodybuilding competition, Arnold Schwarzenegger is even more popular than many of the bodybuilders competing today?

Is it because of his movies? Or the fact he was the Governor of California? Or maybe it’s because he holds the Arnold Bodybuilding, Fitness and Sports Festival in Columbus, Ohio every year?

While I’m sure all these contribute to his popularity, the real reason his popularity continues to grow is because Arnold was an awesome bodybuilder and even decades later, today’s bodybuilders still can’t match Arnold’s arm and chest development.

At his best Arnold’s arms were 22 1/4 inches, with super peaked biceps and massive triceps. Combine that with the V-shape (a huge chest tapering down to a small waist) that today’s bloated bodybuilder’s lack and you can see why people still admire Arnold so much.

So let’s look over how Arnold built his arms, so we can take our own arm development to the next level.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Superset Arm Workout

One of Arnold’s “old school secrets” that helped him pump his arms to new dimensions was using supersets. He would work his biceps and triceps together by do a bicep exercise followed by a triceps exercise with no rest in between.

By getting a maximum pump in both his biceps and his triceps at the same time his arms got huge and ripped.

Here is an example of the type of arm routine he would do:

Barbell Curls superset with
Triceps Pushdowns for 4 sets of 8 to 12 reps.

Alternate Dumbbell Curls superset with
Dumbbell Triceps Kickbacks for 4 sets of 12 reps.

One Arm Dumbbell Concentration Curls superset with
One Arm Dumbbell Triceps Extensions for 4 sets of 12 reps.

This routine works just a well today as it did in the 1970’s, give it a try and watch your arms grow and grow.
