When you deny your body sleep, all sorts of problems appear. You will become stressed, which causes cortisol production, which then causes you to bloat up and seem heavier. You will have no energy to work out, causing you to skip exercise. You will also find you can’t concentrate, leading to depression which often leads to emotional eating choices like junk food. All in all, when you get enough sleep every single night, your whole system stays in perfect alignment.

Glass of waterWater is hugely important when you are losing weight. First of all, your body needs water to perform its own duties. When you deny it, it dehydrates and you can be left in pain, lethargic or nauseated. That means your best bet is to skip all other forms of beverage and instead just drink water. If you want to add some flavor to it, try a hot green tea or some citrus juice. Also, drinking a tall glass of water with lemon juice in it before a meal helps you feel full faster while also keeping your blood sugar levels from spiking too much after eating. Water is truly the drink of champions!

When it comes to eating, there is no one diet which truly stands above the rest. If you want to lose weight, the most important thing is that you totally forego convenience food. That means you stop going to fast food restaurants, skip the frozen meals and try to cut out everything in a bag, box, jar or can unless you make it yourself. You can call it the “From Scratch” diet – everything you eat, be it a condiment, loaf of bread or dessert, should be made by your own hands. You will be surprised once you begin how little time it actually takes. When you know what is in your food, you will quickly be able to swap ingredients out for healthier options, such as trading white sugar out for honey, and your meals will still taste great while you begin to drop weight.

These simple tips will help you go from overweight and sad to trim and happy. All you have to do is start making use of them. Once you do, you will never look back on your fat, miserable days again, except with a smile as you have conquered them for good!
