Fitness Entrepreneur Offers 5 Tips On How To Choose What Is The Best Fitness Franchise

Chino Hills, CA (PRWEB) February 24, 2014

Making the decision to open a fitness franchise can be a little intimidating for personal trainers, especially if they lack a strong business background and arent sure of how to start the process of choosing one. But fitness entrepreneur and marketing expert, Bedros Keuilian, says choosing a fitness franchise to invest in is much easier when one knows what to look out for and what questions to ask. Drawing from his years of experience in starting, growing, and selling his own fitness businesses and opening the successful Fit Body Boot Camp franchise, Keuilian offers his top five tips on how to choose what is the best fitness franchise[1] in an effort to help more personal trainers fulfill their dream of owning their own business.

The fitness entrepreneur says, Ive done a lot of research while creating my Fit Body Boot Camp franchise model, and I wanted to share this with the personal trainers who are out there looking for the best fitness franchise model to get into. So, these five tips are some things they ought to look out for and things they ought to consider asking the franchisor before getting on board with them.

Here are Keuilians top five tips for choosing what the best franchise is:

1. Ask your franchisor how much the buy-in fee is and what exactly comes with that buy-in fee. Most franchises have a buy-in fee and that is where a lot of their profit comes from as well as the revenue that is used to provide you with the resources you need to get started. For instance, does this franchise provide you with marketing help? Do they offer any type of clients getting systems to help your new location hit the ground running? Its important to have a strong understanding of what resources your potential franchisor is including in their buy-in fee first and foremost so you know what to expect.

2. Equipment. Fitness businesses require equipment, of course, and a lot of the time fitness franchises will ask you to buy your equipment through them (equipment is not something that is covered in the buy-in fee). While that maybe the easiest option for most people, there usually is a high markup and if youre looking to save some money in the build out stage of putting your new franchise location together its a good idea to find out whether or not theyll allow you to shop outside of their options for a better discount.

3. Royalty fees. Ask your potential franchisor what their royalty fees are. Some franchises offer a flat fee, regardless of growth, but a majority of the time most franchises will have some type of percentage- anywhere from 6% to 10% of your gross monthly revenue.

4. Term of franchise agreement. Consider the status of the fitness franchise in question and decide whether or not youd feel comfortable signing on for however long their agreements last. Do research into the background of their company if youre unsure.

5. Finally, find out what the level of coaching and support is from your potential franchisor. As a new business owner, youre going to face a few struggles here and there with figuring out how to run your new business so asking what the level of ongoing support is crucial for the long term success of your location.

    Five Short Fitness Tips?

    1. Reply

If you are really serious in your fight against obesity then you must consider the following fitness tips:

      1. Change doesn’t have to be Difficult

Most of the fitness tips that you come across today would ask you to go for long workouts in gyms and eat only salads and get registered with various high priced health clubs. By fitness tips, most of us think that we have to completely change our lifestyle and thus most of us never bother to think about various useful fitness tips. The fear of giving up your dietary habits is one of the obstacles between people and fitness tips.

      2. Commitment

The first thing that you must have in order to go with good fitness tips is commitment. If you have strong will power and you are willing to improve your lifestyle, then every fitness tip will look feasible to you. You are not required to give up everything, rather you are only required to eat simple and better and go for exercises.

You just have to replace your bad habits with good habits. For instance, you should replace sweet candies with fruits that are as sweet as candies. The only thing you need to change is your lifestyle choice. If you do it, you will look better, feel better. Here are some of the most common fitness tips that every dietary expert would give to you:

      3. How Much Can You Eat?

Eating better doesn’t mean that you can eat as much as you want. Although you can eat whatever you like but in less proportion. Rather than having only two meals, you should have meals after every few hours but in less proportion in order to keep your metabolism high.

      4. What About Water?

A great and proven tip is to drink as much water as you can. Experts recommend that you should have at least 6 to 8 glasses of water everyday. The more water you drink, the more sodium and fat you will flush out of your body. Drinking much water helps in suppressing the appetite as well. Drinking approximately 10 glasses per day really help in getting slimmer. Try to consume water before meal in order to decrease your hunger.

      5. What About Exercise?

It is very important that you perform regular exercise. Even if you are eating less but are not bothering about regular exercises, then there are high chances that you won’t be able to reduce weight. Exercise is an integral part of any fitness program.

You are not required to join expensive gyms of s clubs for exercises. A 15 to 30 minute walk around your home or in a garden is sufficient. A stroll in a park after dinner is one of the most common physical activities advisable for every dieter.

Don’t count the number of minutes you walk or jog; just remember that something is better than nothing. If you make walking or jogging a habit or a part of your life then you will be able to improve your cardiovascular health and your lower body would be stronger. You can even try using stairs instead of elevators as an exercise.

If you’re serious about getting fit you need to make an easy to follow system or regimen of all these good fitness tips.

The following healthy living recommendations will help you if you’re trying to lose weight, tone up your muscles, have aspirations of building lean muscle mass, are attempting to get a wash board stomach, or just want to feel better:

*1) Burn more calories then you’re consuming everyday and measure your results using the following formula: Calories Consumed minus Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) minus Physical Activity minus the Thermic Effect of Food (TEF). A website that explains this formula in more detail and will help you determine how many calories you need to reach or maintain a certain weight is at http://www.primusweb.com/fitnesspartner/library/weight/calsburned.htm

Get a diet and fitness calculator that you can put on your computer or cell phone. This will allow you to easily calculate the above formula, set goals, log your daily calorie consumption, and register your physical activities.

Set realistic goals for your ideal body weight. Here are two websites that will calculate a suggested body weight:
      Adults: http://www.halls.md/ideal-weight/body.htm
      Teens/Children: http://www.kidshealth.org/kid/exercise/weight/bmi.html

It is difficult and unhealthy to lose more than one or two pounds per week. There are 3,500 calories in a pound. If you eat 500 fewer calories per day for a week you will lose one pound. If you burn through exercise 500 more calories per day for a week you will lose one pound.

*2) Eat natural and organic foods found on earth versus something created by a corporation to make money. Eat meals in small portions throughout the day and take a good multi-vitamin supplement.

Avoid “High Glycemic Load Carbs” (sugar, pastries, desserts, refined starches such as breads, pasta, refined grains like white rice; high starch vegetables such as potatoes) and drink lots of water. Read this article for more information on high GL Carbs:
      http://www.hsph.harvard.edu/nutritionsource/carbohydrates.html

Do not try fad diets or diet pills. Here is an excellent food pyramid that anyone can follow: http://www.rayandterry.com/html/images/PyramidLRG.gif?osCsid=26a424be471d1337e7c2f105d5c64d9d

*3) Exercise on most days by doing cardiovascular training and/or resistance training activities.

Read a book or find a certified trainer to make sure your doing all resistance training exercises correctly. A great book to buy that teaches you the resistance training basics is “Weight Training for Dummies”. A superb magazine to buy with resistance training routines that will not get you bored is “Muscle and Fitness”. Signup for the free newsletter. An excellent free online resource is at http://www.exrx.net/

A good book to buy that teaches you the cardiovascular training basics is “Fitness for Dummies”.

*4) Get plenty of sleep. Sleep experts say most adults need between seven and nine hours of sleep each night for optimum performance, health, and safety.

*5) Educate yourself continually on health issues and make a life long commitment to good health. A great free publication is “Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2005”. A superb book to read is “You The Owner’s Manual”. An excellent periodic publication is the “Nutrition Action Health Letter”. A reputable test you can take to measure your biological age is at http://realage.com

Look at all areas where you can enhance your health. For example, make improvements in the quality of the air you breathe. Review outdoor air quality forecasts where you live and get an indoor air purifier. Fitness Tips For Women

Are you frustrated with the increasing size of your jeans? A woman’s jeans never lies and it reveals the harsh reality of them being unhealthy. It is essential for a woman to maintain good physical fitness in order to fight back the health conditions that they might face later on in life. With the kind of responsibilities that a woman needs to take up, it is very important for her to take care of her physical health because she cannot afford to move out of responsibilities due to an unfit body. Physical exercise is the best way to lose body fat because exercise gears up the metabolism and encourages the body to burn down extra calories. Physical exercise also keeps the heart rate under control and makes your lungs function to their maximum capacity. Therefore, it is important to indulge in a physical workout routine for a woman to look good, stay healthy and above all feel good about herself. Here are few effective tips presented to answer questions you might have in mind.

      Effective Tips For Women Fitness

      Understand Your Body
Understand your body type and find out which type of exercises your body is comfortable with and which type of exercises are proving to be effective on you. If while working out you experience any difficulty, cut down on the repetitions for some time and then try once more to check whether you face the same trouble. If you want to really stay fit and toned, you need to understand the requirements of your body first.

      Don’t Get Disappointed
As per the advice of professionals, one should spend 20-60 minutes in the gym for about 3-5 days in a week. However, busy schedules may not always allow you to stick to the ideal routine. You should not fret if you see yourself not following a 3 or 5 day routine, or going for a jog every morning. All that matters is your commitment towards improving your fitness. This commitment can also be fulfilled working out only twice a week for 20 minutes. The goal should be to be on track, even if you move slowly on it.

      Focus On Your Successes
We often get demotivated by our failures and lose our confidence in achieving a set goal. The rescue mantra here would be to concentrate on the milestones you have achieved and not on your failures. Focus on what you have done till date to achieve your goal irrespective of how much of it you have achieved. Praise yourself for the commitment you have made and for the hardwork you are putting in.

      Put Weights Before Cardio
Change your routine if you start your fitness regime with cardio exercises and then follow it up with weight lifting. This is a mistake committed by almost all women. When you start with cardio exercises you might miss on a critical component of the routine, because you end up spending more time on cardio, concentrating less on other exercises. Reverse the order and perform the weight training first, to see a more positive outcome.

      Don’t Overdo
A one hour workout at a time is what an average woman requires in order to stay fit. If you spend too much of your time in the gym, repeating the same routine over extended periods of time, you might get end up getting bored and tiresome. Make your workout routine interesting and more efficient by focusing on the exercises you do.

      Follow The Right Technique
When you are trying out some exercise, do it in the right way. Learn the technique thoroughly before you put it into practice. Knowing the techniques right will lower the risk of any injury, and will maximize the desired result. It is better to consult your trainer and seek help, instead of getting injured by doing an exercise incorrectly.

      Stay Hydrated
Your exercise routine might cause dehydration, which will prove out to be negative for your health and fitness. Therefore, it is important for you to increase your water intake, while following a tedious workout regimen. It is advisable to at least consume 8 glasses of water every day.

Keep Your Heart Rate Under Check
A woman should workout at 75-80% of their maximum heart rate. If your heart rate is low, it implies that you are not working out to your full potential. While, on the other hand if your heart rate is too high, it will pose danger to your health. Therefore, it is advisable to keep your heart rate monitored.

What Are Some Good Health/fitness Tips? Im a fourteen years old and i been trying to lose weight for a month and only loss two pounds and i want to lose a lot of weight before the summer ends (seven weeks)

    1. Reply

      TIP 1. Study.
Your body has no choice but to follow your brain. So, you should feed your brain a steady diet of good information if you want to be all you can be. It’s YOUR body and it has to last a lifetime so it’s worth the investment. Don’t ask questions of random strangers with no credibility in this or other online forums. Use high quality resources for information instead. The basic principles of health, fitness, and nutrition are not that difficult or hard to understand.

Avoid the internet unless you’re using trusted sites in dot gov or dot edu domains. The dot coms are usually driven by profit motive and you’ll find bad information in most websties including WebMD, Livestrong, Bobybuilding.com, etc. and especially in this forum and others like it. And, avoid magazine and other cheap commercial informational products about fitness, glamour, muscle building, fashion and fads. Don’t be part of the “herd” unless you want to look, feel, and perform like the “herd”.

Use books, especially late edition text books on subjects such as nutrition, anatomy, kinesiology, and physiology…especially exercise physiology. You can find excellent information resources at your local public or Uni library or for sale cheap online at Amazon.com and Ebay.com.

Always follow the science. Use critical thinking. Be skeptical and do not believe anything without cross checking it with trusted sources. Grow your personal knowledge base and everything else will follow with relative ease.

You have one body and it has to last a lifetime. It’s worth the investment to learn how to care for it properly.

      TIP 2. Don’t micromanage
Your body is a work in progress. You won’t have your adult body for almost a decade. Don’t try to make changes which may go against nature while nature is developing you physically. Sure, everyone wants to be svelte and fit and so should you. However, you don’t want to try to lose fat, for example, when your body is trying to build muscle unless you are very much over weight. Trying to reduce body fat to 15%, for example, can inhibit the growth of muscle and important tissues. You at the age where eating disorders begin to manifest themselves so avoid obsessing about food, fat, and body image.

TIP 3. Eat a good and proper diet
This is easy said than done. Learn to read and understand food labels, count calories, manage macro nutrient ratios, etc. You are what you eat and your long term health and well being are very much dependent on your ability to eat properly for now and the rest of your life.

      TIP 4. Exercise
Exercise does not have to be work. It can be dancing or walking or swimming or anything that involve low risk, a wider variety of motions and muscle contractions, and elevates your heart rate to 80% of max where max is 230 – your age and sustains it at that level for 20 minutes several times a week. And, build muscle too. Only muscle offers all of the following.
      • Stronger bones & increased mineral density (osteoporosis protection)
      • Stronger body & musculature (improved protection from injury)
      • More robust organic and systemic fitness (more survivable in crisis)
      • Improved cardio-vascular function (better than “cardio”)
      • Higher basal metabolic rate (~5-50 cal/day/pound of muscle)
      • Easier fat loss (more efficient lipid consumption)
      • Greater calorie consumption (prolonged afterburn)
      • Supports body sculpting (hypertrophy)
      • Slows natural loss of muscle mass (sarcopenia) over age 30
      • Minimal wear & tear (low risk)
It only take a couple of hours of hard work to build strength.

      TIP 5. Be happy
Manage your stress. Keep your reactions in proper proportion, your negative emotions in check, and don’t be a drama queen. Do those things which bring you happiness.

      TIP 6. Use this website.
Be sure to bookmark it and use it. It’s been recommended by the people your doctor listens to, US National Institute of Health, and has tons of information about your growing and changing body. –> http://teenshealth.org/teen/

  4. Fitness Tips? Alright, so I want to get in real good shape. With muscles, and such. I don’t want to get like, ripped or anything. Just something reasonable. I’m 14 years old.

Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you, and God bless.

    1. Reply

You are never to young to learn the benefits of being fit. At your age overall fitness is the best choice for your training. By overall fitness I am referring to weight lifting, cardiovascular and good nutrition. Understand the importance of all 3 and getting and staying in “real good shape” becomes much easier. To answer your specific request of “muscles and such”, full body compound exercises are the place to start. Compound moves are exercises that work more than one muscle at a time. Examples of these are the bench and military press, seated rows, squats and dead lifts. Doing a full body workout of these moves three times a week, along with some cardio, coupled with high protein, low sugar, balanced diet, and at your age in mere weeks you will start feeling and seeing results. You can visit http://www.muscleandhealth.org for very specific info on all aspects of how to get in real Good shape.
