See if you agree with the following statement. Fat loss and weight loss are essentially the same thing, interchangeable.
If, like many people, said yes, you guessed wrong. Fat loss and weight loss are not the same thing at all. In fact, they are not even close.
If you browse the diet book section of your local bookstore, or surf the web, you will see that most books and diet programs contain the words weight loss in their title or subtitle. Most diet programs are weight loss, which is the correct approach to this whole area. As a coach and specializes in healthy fat loss and fitness author, I recommend that you only worry about taking excess fat.
Here’s why. Weight is good, not bad; you do not want to lose weight, and most important to your health, you do not want to lose muscle. Our weight is made up of tissue, muscle, bone, blood, fat, water, and the rest of our physical body. Muscular, like all other components of our physical constitution, is more important. And fat is also a necessary and vital part of our constitution.
It is the excess body fat that is the big problem. Having excess body fat, being fat increases the risk of heart attack, stroke, diabetes, hypertension and many other serious diseases. And perhaps most serious of all, if you can get more serious than a heart attack or stroke, it is that excess body fat is being linked to many more types of cancers than previously known.
Excess fat is bad news and that’s what I ask you to focus on, fat loss. The following is so important it bears repeating: do not want to lose weight. That’s just a convenient way to avoid the word fat. Fat has ugliness attached to it. Nobody likes to be called fat or think of themselves as fat, so they say overweight, portly, fat, chubby and use other phrases like take off pounds, lose weight, or take off inches.
We can play word games, deny it and dance around the fact that we are fat and need to lose fat. But it is more effective and realistic bit up to the job at hand, which is to lose excess fat. And indeed, once you take 100 percent responsibility for doing just that, many people are highly motivated and do the job faster and easier.
In my many years working in fat loss and fitness, I have learned what I think is the best way to take excess fast, healthy and permanent fat. And that is through the adoption of a balanced diet based on whole foods plants, fresh and natural, and exercise daily.
The type of program I recommend is simple and ferociously effective. not include food-based diet reduced fat. It is not low carb, carbohydrates nonsense. No disintegrators pills fat. No, processed and packaged foods delivered to your door. No meal replacement shakes or herbal remedies that melt fat away. I strongly urge my clients and readers to stay away from all these approaches to weight loss and often dangerous false. Unfortunately, they are endless, and many people are eager to buy into magic bullets or shortcut ways for losing fat.
It is legitimate to ask why is a balanced diet based on plants whole, natural foods so effective at losing fat. The answer is simple and irrefutable: no more effective way to lose fat permanently cut all the fat that comes with eating animals and foodstuffs of animal origin such as dairy products and eggs manner. And permanently eliminating all refined foods, processed and fast from your diet. These are loaded with sugar, salt and added fats, including hydrogenated fats / oil, one of the worst substances you can put in your body. Put even more simply, we are what we eat.
That’s the difference between fat loss and weight loss, and the difference between the approach I recommend and all the books and programs that promote weight loss.
If you are interested in permanently, healthfully losing all the excess fat you want to lose, I urge you to adopt a balanced diet based on whole foods plants, fresh and natural, no meat, poultry, fish, dairy products or eggs.

I ordered the Fitbit Charge HR only after I gave up on Jawbone fulfilling my preorder for the Up3 and once I realized the Fitbit,
First, disregard the reviews from all the “personal trainers” and “hardcore” gym goers out there. It’s amazing how everyone becomes a trainer or gym rat when reviewing a piece of workout equipment. Wrist based heart rate monitoring is still in its infancy and if, and I stress if, you are so hardcore that a possible 5-10 beat variation is so critical then you need to stay with chest based HR monitoring for awhile. The Charge HR isn’t for that. Not to mention, I haven’t seen that it is off like others have said. I was skeptical and I have a Garmin Running GPS watch with a chest HR strap and I see the two being pretty consistent.
Second, I cannot stress enough the quality of the Fitbit app and web based dashboard. They are motivational and intuitive and they give you goals to shoot for. I have yet to see any sync issues or any of the other nonsense I have seen in other reviews.
Finally, $150 is a lot of money but it less than other comparable products out there. To me this is the perfect entry level device. If you like the concept and are disciplined, then you can upgrade to another device. if you are trying to get a snapshot of what you are doing on a daily basis and how you can make some life and fitness improvements, this device is a perfect way in. If you are a “personal trainer” or just “crushing it” beyond what the Charge can handle, you should probably do another set of burpees, stick with chest strap HR monitors and save your “insightful” reviews for Flex magazine.
Bottom line; the Charge HR is well worth the money. No product is perfect but this one does perform as promised. Amazon has the best customer relations of any company out there so if you don’t like it you can send it back anyway. I hope this review helps. I know when I was looking, these reviews can be ridiculous, contradict and misleading. Give it a shot! You won’t be sorry!

What a clever little device,
I’ve heard people complain about the price, but when you compare it to the value of what you get, the price doesn’t even come into it. I’ve lost 2.5kg in one month just by pushing myself to walk at least 10K steps a day; no dieting, no gym.
Oh, and I also wear it on my ankle while I’m sleeping. (I can’t wear watches in bed!), I got a 20c hair band to extend it, and it tracks everything perfectly while I’m zzz-ing.
Oh the simplest thing about the device that gives me great pleasure is that the Fitbit Charge HR vibrates when:
1. You’ve set an alarm
2. Your phone rings (provided you have Bluetooth enabled)
3. When you’ve reached the step goal that you set
All-in-all, I recommend anyone who wants to get fit to buy it. It’s the cost of a few restaurant dinners. Cut back on those, and you’ll get quick super fast so you will be able to afford to eat as much as you like!

Make up your mind, eat raw vegetables, eat fruit, eat lean meats, no white sugar, no pop, no alcohol, no drugs, no cigs, eat lots of beans cooked in actual chopped tomatoes and water and herbs, lemon water, strength train, do cardio several times per week, stop eating after 7:30 pm and wait 12 hours before you begin to eat again. Eat the best food, and just fucking stop all the bullshit.

you can eat all the fruits and veggies you want and still lose weight 😛 Usually high fat foods demand more fats later.. Usually if I eat 15-20% calories from fat, i will want more the next day. If I eat 5-9% calories from fat, my body doesn't demand more, either the same day or next day. That's from my own research. I've lost 110 pounds and have kept it off for 2 years now. :P
Everybody has a new diet or workout plan or something. That's the new thing. Back then it was stupid exercise machine infomercials that did absolutely nothing for you. Now every tom dick and harry has some random get lean, add muscle nonsense that people buy. All you need is a gym and educate yourselves. Case in point that Asian dude to the right hand side
