Achieving bodybuilding gains.

Last week I spoke with a client of mine who had been busy working during the holidays, {because it is the peak season for your business} and had not been able to work as much as wanted in the gym and likewise includes not been able to get in all the meals you need to time either.He was very frustrated and just wanted to leave the whole program for a couple of months until things got a little quieter for him at work . I was told not to do so for the following reasons:

1. Stop training would lower your metabolism, which in turn would reduce their energy levels and therefore makes it less productive at work.

2. Although I could not get to the gym as often, getting your workout in and after the diet as much as possible will prevent you from losing valuable muscle gains while not fat gains.This desired turn prevents you from getting more depressed when he sees his body deteriorate.

3. Once your workload decreases he can start going to the gym more often and following the meal schedule again, he’ll be in good shape and your body responds very quickly to more aggressive scheduling. This is a very different scenario to which he would have found if he had stopped training and diet completely, as in this case, he would have had to use at least a couple of weeks to get your body conditioned by the weight back and it would have taken a week, or maybe even two, to get rid of body fat that could have won depending on the severity was the diet.

But having said this, in order to be successful you need to have the right attitude. Bodybuilding is a physical and psychological exercise. All times we get tired in our schedules are affected by work, or any other circumstance of life that can be thrown our way. Therefore, we must fight aggressively and plan ahead if we want to get our workouts and meals.

As bodybuilders we must keep our eyes on the ultimate goal, which is always to gain more muscle mass while reducing body fat. In order to accomplish this we must be consistent with our training and diet. If for any reason the program has drawn bodybuilder is too much of a time commitment in a given period of life, then the solution is to change the program so that it fits our schedule. For example, a few years ago there were periods when I had to work many hours each week, I changed my training so he could visit the gym 5 days a week for 30-45 minutes of weight training. When I had no time to do cardiovascular exercise, I superset antagonistic muscles in order to get some sort of cardiovascular effect. That’s all I could do at that time. I’ve always tried to get my training on the job before, but if for some reason I could not then always had lunchtime to make it up or late at night after work. At worst, it was not always the weekend for makeup sessions. As for meals, provided I brought with me on all my meals prepared in advance and enough powder meal replacement for those times that I was really in the race.

Some of you for any reason may not even be able to do more than a couple of sessions a week. If this is the case, then just try to make the most of the time you have. The key to making lasting bodybuilding gains is that you have a realistic goal that can run consistently and not try to follow one that looks great on paper, but can not be followed. You will get where you want to go, you can just take a little longer, depending on how much time you can devote to achieve their goals.

    I am a weightlifter with over 15 years of experience. I do heavy pulls twice a week, so I go through straps somewhat quickly. Unfortunately, these frayed in less than a month of lifting (~6 workouts). For comparison, I get almost a year out of my usual brand before they fail. Probably won’t be buying these again.
